New decade, new Open kitchen season

We left you some time to get used to the new year (and break at least one New Year’s resolution), but now it’s time. The team is going full steam ahead with planning the 8th season of the Open kitchen as the popular food market is traditionally returning to Pogačarjev trg on the first Friday of spring - March 20.

Even though eight is not a prime or a fairytale number, its 2 round bellies suggest a season full of yummy food and drinks. Additionally, 8 is a magical number in nuclear physics (and Pratchett’s novels), a sign of wealth and abundance in Hinduism, a lucky number in Chinese culture, and in Slovene, it sounds like kinda the word awesome! :)

With the coming of spring, Ljubljana (and soon other cities in Slovenia as well) will enjoy the abundance, brought by the country’s best restaurants, inns, bistros, patisseries, pubs, street vendors, wine shops, diners and other genres of culinary ateliers. From the stalls, you’ll be greeted by longstanding members of the Open kitchen family, bringing nostalgia with good old hits and showing off new ideas that sparked during the winter. The eighth season of the Open kitchen will be magical, rich, lucky, happy and simply awesome! On Friday, March 20, we’re celebrating all the superlatives and making a toast to being back at Pogačarjev trg from 10 AM to 9 PM.
