We open the Open kitchen in a week!


When we think about what a long way away the start of the 11th season seemed in October, when we concluded the fabulous 10, we tend to smile just a little. The winter obviously gained some warp-speed superpowers and the (pre)spring premiere is literally at our doorstep.


We’re meeting at the first Open kitchen of the season at Pogačarjev trg in precisely a week, on Friday, March 17!


Between 10 AM and 9 PM, we’ll be there with a bouquet of the best of Slovenia’s culinary stars! With pans, woks, pots, fridges, rice cookers, fryers, grills, tap machines and all the other extra equipment (including the widest of smiles, of course!), the good old chaps you’ve met in previous seasons will welcome you back and a fair amount of rookies will join them with a healthy measure of butterflies in their stomachs. We’ll obviously greet them in the big happy family of the Open kitchen with open arms. And who are those newbies, who’ll make our Fridays even yummier, and what are they bringing to the table, you ask?


We’ll tell you (in alphabetical order because they all deserve the number one spot in our books when it comes to our enthusiasm and the quality of their goodies): Boul with their bowls, DiMatteo Gelateria with American pancakes and coffee-gelato delights, Dragon Street Food with dragon’s kurtosh, Hiša Jerin with pork cheeks and plum dumplings, Juicy Marbles with juicy alternatives, MEMON Prosciutto e Vino CF with prosciutto and wine and Sladki Pisker with fresh strudel!


But don’t be fooled, even the well-known vendors have some new aces up their sleeves! We’re not giving out everything just yet, we wouldn’t want to spoil your surprise. But we hope you understand, you’ll have to come equipped with a good number of foodie friends, so you can order everything and try a bit of all the good stuff.


In the following days, we polish out the final details and do a sun dance or two, and we’ll se you Friday, the 17th. Deal?
