Gastronomska destinacija: Kamnik
From ever since we can remember, the lives of people from Kamnik have been closely tied to food. The visitors are charmed by tastes of the Kamnik traditional dishes from Firšt's traditional goulash to the Tuhinj trout. It all tastes even richer with a bit of local cheese called trnič or a spoon of Kamnik mustard, known by every Slovene. Dry throats are cured by the local Rušovc spirit and the young ones can enjoy apple juice, made from old apple sorts. In the city and around it quite a few barrels of beer are brewed - we could say that the modern Kamnik is a city of microbrewers. Kamnik has been presented to the visitors of Odprta kuhna by: - Pr'Gabršk farm, making trnič according to the shepherd tradition from Velika planina, - Anica Ahčin from the Tuhinj Valley, one of the few carvers still making tools to decorate trnič, - Mali grad Brewery, the most experienced of the young microbreweries in Kamnik that recently added boutique gin to their arsenal.
