New faces at the opening of the season


On Friday, March 22, we’ll open the seventh, fairytale season of the Open kitchen with the 150th edition of the food market in Ljubljana and the 200th Odprta kuhna in Slovenia. As every year, you’ll find some new culinary faces among the well known Odprta kuhna family members. In the whole season, we’ll meet around 15 new vendors and many of them will already greet you at Pogačarjev Square at the opening.

The wide variety of trendy international dishes will be enriched by increasingly popular Hawaiian poke bowls by TINK superfood café, authentic Mexican tacos from El Patrón Tacos & Store, EK Bistro’s brunch goodies, Argentinian empanadas by Pivnica Lajbah and the famous Pop’s Place gourmet burgers.

Fejst™ will keep us warm with soups, inspired by Slovene tradition as well as world cuisine, Gostišče Barbara’s young team will make classic and modern versions of Idrija žlikrofi (including chocolate ones!), Planinka hotel restaurant will bring Upper Savinja specialities, the young and talented chef Mojmir Šiftar will move his kitchen from Smlednik’s Evergreen to Pogačarjev Square, and the team of Pâtisserie La Ganache will take us to the wonderful world of French pastries.

After their debut in Ptuj, Gostilna Grabar is bringing their amazing dishes to Ljubljana too. We’re also happy to tell you that after a rather long break, Jorg Zupan is returning with Atelje (and his wild imagination) and that Danilo - gostilna & vinoteka are bringing modern versions of Škofja Loka dishes to the market again.

So, if you were planning on visiting your last year’s favourites or are looking for something new and exciting - there are plenty of reasons for visiting Pogačarjev Square. See you!
