Goodbye, plastic!

Yes, you read that right. With the eighth season of the Open kitchen, we are saying farewell to plastic.

For over two years, we have been serving food exclusively on biodegradable or reusable materials, and this year drinks and beverages are joining. From now on, the cups will also be made from environmentally friendly materials - we’ll either toss them into the bio-waste bins or return them to the vendors. The current supply of plastic-bottled beverages will be replaced by glass-bottled and canned beverages.

The vision of the Open kitchen is to create trendsetting events - not only in the field of gastronomy but also regarding sustainability and ecology. We live in a time when we are most affected by the inappropriate attitude towards nature and at the same time, more than ever, are fighting for our planet. That is why at the Open kitchen we take waste separation very seriously and make sure that at the end of the event no leftover food is thrown away - we donate it to those in need, as we like to give back to our wonderful community and city, thus cultivating a sustainable future for all.
