Another successful #MINIkuhna trip


On the last Saturday of October, a lovely autumn day, we embarked on our #MINIkuhna trip.

We started the day with some coffee, biscuits and good news for our prize-game winners and other attendees and then proceeded to the MINI fleet, carefully chosen for this occasion. Big and small, sporty and classic, playful and intriguing, each upgraded a series of programmes and functions to make our rides safe and enjoyable. And off we went!


First stop: Pekarna Ana

At the boutique bakery, opened by chef Ana Roš in October, we were met by a pastry master Anže Kranjec, who introduced us to the intricate process of dough lamination. We followed the procedure and his explanation as carefully as possible while our eyes wandered to the trays filled with freshly baked pastries. Immediately after tasting the buttery pain au chocolat we knew our days were already perfect.


Second stop: Restavracija Milka

Oh, how we enjoyed the ride! We familiarized ourselves with all the MINI features, marvelled at the golden sun-kissed forests and contemplated while admiring the mountains how grateful we are to be living in such a beautiful place. In Kranjska Gora, we were welcomed by a lovely view of lake Jasna and the smiling Restaurant Milka team, which received its first Michelin star this year just a few months after the opening. The meal, prepared by chef David Žefran and his team, left us speechless. Inspired by the surrounding nature and local produce, every part of the menu, from the tasty hors d'oeuvre to huchen accompanied by celery and black currant, the cabbage with the aromatic Tolminec cheese, wild bore with Brussel sprouts and sweet barley with hazelnuts and button mushrooms to playfully introduced petty fours, was pure poetry. After this meal, incredible wine pairing and wonderful service it was decided: we will surely visit again!


Third stop: Studio Biskvit

We returned to Ljubljana with our MINI cars full and happy, unbothered even by the holiday crowds on the roads. For our final stop, we chose the Biskvit studio, where we met Janža Dolinšek and Daša Kogoj, two incredible ceramic creators. They introduced us to their work and the process of ceramic designs for fine-dining restaurants. Later, we even - more or less successfully - tried to recreate the famous scene from The Ghost using the pottery wheels.

That truly was an amazing #MINIkuhna trip - we can’t wait for the next one!
