The game is on!


The day we’ve been waiting for is finally here! The day when, after a long winter, Pogačarjev trg dresses up in the flavours, aromas, colours and sounds of the Open kitchen once again. This Friday, March 17, no less than 52 stands (and many, many more smiles) will greet you there.


We’ll be joined by 8 rookies – Boul with their bowls, DiMatteo Gelateria with American pancakes and coffee-gelato delights, Dragon Street Food with dragon’s kurtosh, Hiša Jerin with pork cheeks and plum dumplings, Juicy Marbles with juicy alternatives, MEMON Prosciutto e Vino with prosciutto and wine, Pekarna Ana with remarkable baked goods and Sladki Pisker with fresh strudel – but the good old friends are preparing a bunch of novelties and surprises as well. Let’s flip through those now…


We’ll test out Amaze’s Ceasar Salad, try croffles and flower donuts by Lea, pop by Bužinel for the debutante veggie burger, try out new flavours at Pie Shop and Pinsa Romana, check what new ideas Nika from Bon Bon packed into her ice cream bombs, enjoy Altrokè’s porchetta, now wrapped into a piadina, let Pišek load our fries with new toppings (like cheddar and bacon), bite into Punkt’s burgers, discover new fillings of Tavarneta’s dumplings, research the fresh (also veggie!) flavour combos of the Food Point’s hot dogs and warm up with Majaronka’s ribollita.


We won’t list all the new stuff to save some surprises for Friday, but we can say that, together with the dishes that have already won a place in our hearts' halls of fame, we’ll need about 200 fingers to count all the goodies presented. But that shouldn’t be a problem – plenty of hands will work at the stands and even more will carry the goodies to every corner of the picturesque square, handle the cutlery to bring the bites to where they ultimately belong and raise glasses to honour our reunion.
