The last summer Friday
Oh, how the summer passed! Nevertheless, the autumn months have a lot to offer - the freshly picked grapes, apples, pumpkins and all other sorts of produce end up in countless yummy dishes and drinks that we’re looking forward to every year.
On Friday, September 21, we’re saying goodbye to summer with a (if we are to believe the forecasts) truly summerish Open kitchen. We’ll be at Pogačarjev Square from 10 AM to 10 PM, and joining us are some great vendors.
Once again, the JB restavracija will delight us with their visit, and the Veganika team is returning with their autumn menu, sweetened by warm cinnamon rolls. We’ll welcome Gostilna Zorko from Boreci for the very first time and they’re bringing some autumnal specialities from both sides of the Mura river.
For the last time this year, we’ll meander between the stands next to the covered market, where we’ll discover Slovenia’s beauties and goodies. We’re finishing the first season of our expansion in some fine company.
TIC Murska Sobota and Hranilnica prekmurskih dobrot will introduce us to typical Prekmurje dishes, tell us more about the beauties of our North-East and offer us a true Prekmurje cookbook, homemade pumpkin oils and spreads, fine juices and jams and many other local products. Together with Gostilna Zorko they’ll wrap the Open kitchen in the aromas of the regional dishes and make a true celebration of Pomurje flavours.
The Land of Celje is presenting the Eco-farm Rečnik with products, made from homegrown walnuts and the Žalec beer fountain. We’ll sample homemade liquors at Žganjekuha Kržič and shop for beautiful ceramics, just waiting to be used in the autumn and winter months, at Daša’s Pottery stand.
We’re continuing the Open kitchens regular offer until the end of October if the weather agrees to agree with us. On Friday, September 28, we’re switching to autumn opening hours, so the kitchen will be open an hour less, from 10 AM to 9 PM.
See you around!
